Using Desk Phone

This guide is for all Grandstream GRP261x and GRP262x Series Desk Phones.

Commonly used Desk Phones by NVG Communications: GRP2612W, GRP2613, GRP2614, GRP2615, GRP2616 and GRP2624.



ANSWERING CALLS


Single Incoming Call


Answer the call by lifting the Handset or Headset or pressing the Speaker button.

You can also answer by pressing the Answer softkey under LCD screen or pressing the Extension / Line button.


Multiple Incoming Calls


  1. When there is a call waiting, users will hear a Call Waiting tone.
  2. The next incoming call will appear on LCD screen.
  3. Answer the incoming call by pressing the Answer softkey.
  4. The current call will be put on hold.
  5. Toggle between the calls using the UP or down button.




ENDING A CALL


End a call by pressing the "EndCall” soft key or hang up the phone.




CALL HOLD/RESUME


Hold: Place a call on ‘hold’ by pressing the hold  button (on GRP2612/GRP2613/GRP2615/GRP2624) or softkey (on GRP14/GRP2616/GRP2634).


Resume: Resume the call by pressing the Hold Button or pressing the Resume softkey.




CALL TRANSFER


In order to transfer the call you need to be on a call.



Blind Transfer


  1. Press transfer button and the active call will be placed on hold automatically.
  2. Dial the number or use BLF button and press the “BlindTrnf” softkey to complete transfer of active call.



Attended Transfer


  1. Press transfer button and the active call will be placed on hold automatically.
  2. Dial the number or use BLF button and press Once the call is established, press the “AttTrnf” softkey.
  3. Once the call is answered press "Transfer" softkey.
  4. After the call is transferred, phone will display idle screen.


Dynamic Attended Transfer


This feature is when you use the Transfer Button on the Desk Phone.



  1. You need to be on a call.
  2. Press transfer key  to bring up a new line, and the first call will be placed on hold automatically.
  1. Dial the number and press SEND button  to make a second call.
  2. Press transfer key again to make the transfer.


Note: For Dynamic Attended Transfer, after dialing out the number for the second call, when the second call is not established yet (ringing), pressing “Cancel” will hang up the second call. If the second call is established (answered), pressing “Split” will resume the second call and keep the first call on hold.      



REDIAL


Press the Redial softkey to call the last dialled number.

Use the History softkey to bring Missed or Received / Dialled call list. Use the Up and Down arrows to select.

If you have two Extensions on the Phone it will dial from the Extension the call was received or made.



              

3-WAY CONFERENCE


Initiate a Conference Call


In order to initiate a Conference call you need to be on a call.


  1. Press conference  button (on GRP2614/ GRP2616) or softkey (on GRP2612/GRP2613/ GRP2615/GRP2623/GRP2634) to bring up conference dialling screen.
  2. Dial the third party number followed by SEND key.
  3. When the call is established to the third party, press the “ConfCall” softkey (or “Conference” button on GRP2614/GRP2616) to initiate 3-way conference.



Cancel a Conference Call


Press “Kick” soft key in conference dialling screen to remove one party and resume the two-way conversation.

You may also use "Split" to split the Conference call into two separate calls.


Hold The Conference


  • Press hold button  to hold the conference call with all parties are on hold.
  • Press “ReConf” soft key to resume conference call.


End The Conference


The conference will be terminated for all three parties if the conference initiator hangs up or presses “EndCall” soft key.





MUTE


  1. Press the MUTE button  to mute/ unmute the microphone.
  2. The Mute icon indicates whether the microphone is muted.




VOLUME ADJUSTMENTS


Use the volume button  to adjust the ring volume when the phone is idle.

Press the volume button during an active call to adjust the call volume.


Note: They are separate settings, one for Idle state and one for On Call.





USING THE HEADSET OR SPEAKER


  1. Use the Speaker  Button to turn speaker ON/OFF.
  2. Use the Headset  button to use the headset once it had been connected.
  3. Take Handset/Headset off-hook or press Speaker button or an available Extension key (activates speakerphone) .
  4. The line will have dial tone and the corresponding line’s LED will turn green.
  5. If you wish, select another LINE key (second Extension).
  6. Enter the phone number.
  7. Press the SEND button or press the “DIAL” soft key.


Note: Some Headsets are integrated with the Desk Phone, such as Plantronics, Jabbra or Sennheiser using same "Plantronics EHS" settings. In this case, the headset might automatically pick the call if "Answer" softkey is pressed.
